Welcome to my family's Web Page.  God blessed me with a wonderful family and I'll share part of that wonder with you.  Like every family, we have our ups and our down, our good times and our bad times, our joys and our sorrows.  May this page help you look at your own family (or future family) in a new, blessed way.

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.  Honor your father and mother-which is the first commandment with a promise-that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth."

Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.

Ephesians 6:1-4 (NIV)

I'll start off with my true gift from God-my wife Shari.  She is truly overworked and underpaid.  She is an intelligent, creative, wonderful person who is never told enough how much she means to me.  She does what anyone asks of her, always giving 110%, and continues to add to her duties those things that are not asked of her.   Along her infinite other duties, she homeschools our two daughters, Heather and Katelyn.  Shari, as God and all viewers of this site as my witnesses,

I love you, now and forever...

Thank you for being my wife and the mother of our children.  I only hope that you will forgive me for the millions of times that I have not and will not say "thank you" and "I love you" when I should.  Forgive me for the countless times I've taken you and all you do for granted.  I love you!

Next up is my 15 year old daughter, Heather.  Like most teenagers, she is at that critical point in her life when many choices which will affect the rest of her life have to be made.  Shari and I pray every night that God will help her with her decisions.  We offer her advice before she makes her decisions, we support her when her decisions prove fruitful, and we comfort her when her decisions prove painful.

Next on the list is my 8 year old daughter, Katelyn.  She's the smartest of us all, so I hope she learns HTML soon so that she can teach me some tricks!  I honestly don't know what exactly to say about Katelyn, but I'll try...  She is the kind of daughter that can frustrate even the most patient one minute and have you laughing so hard you cry the next.  I think it's best to say that to fully appreciate Katelyn, you have to know her.  And once you know her, you just love her.

Finally come our two cats, Daisy and Tommy.  Daisy is considered my cat, while Tommy is "Momma's Boy".  Daisy came to me in November of 1995 as a starving, injured kitten and has been with me ever since.  Tommy came into our lives in August 1996 when he climbed onto Shari's shoulder after stepping in his water bowl at the Greater Huntsville Humane Society.  After a class act like that, who could say no?

I figure that if I don't at least show one picture of myself, my wife will delete my web site.  I have nothing to say besides "Thank You" to God for giving me such a wonderful family.

Thus ends the page about my family.  I hope you've enjoyed reading about us.  I'll continue to add to this page as time permits.

Thank you for spending a little of your precious time with us.

- Ric, Shari, Heather, Katelyn, Tommy, and Daisy
